Palm Springs ARC sends 8‑home East Alejo proposal back for restudy, cites colors, roof drainage and orientation

The Palm Springs Architectural Review Committee voted unanimously on March 2 to send a major architectural application for eight single‑family homes at 2700 East Alejo Road back to the applicant for restudy, after raising concerns about colors, roof drainage and site orientation.

Planning staff told the committee the proposal (case AR2025‑0073) would construct eight detached single‑family residences on a 2.53‑acre undeveloped parcel and that accessory dwelling units (ADUs) shown in the materials are excluded from this architectural review under state law. Staff recommended approval with conditions, including limiting repeated color schemes on a single street frontage and requiring conformance with the city’s water‑efficient landscaping and outdoor lighting standards.
