Summary
The board received the LCCTC newsletter highlighting SkillsUSA winners, a drone pilot education pilot, mock interviews involving roughly 525 students, and the appointment of Danielle Romberger to principal; the report also notes an application for a $5,000,000 Commonwealth school facility grant.
At its March 17 meeting the Cornwall-Lebanon School Board heard a report on Lebanon County Career & Technology Center (LCCTC) activities that highlighted student achievements, new programs and a building grant application.
Mrs. Schlegel read LCCTC newsletter items to the board: four Cornwall-Lebanon students advanced as gold medalists in the SkillsUSA District 5 competition and several other students won silver, bronze or placed fourth through eighth. The report also noted that LCCTC’s FFA team took second place in a large landscape design competition at the farm show. The board heard that roughly 525 students participated in a district mock-interview event intended to build real-world readiness, and the newsletter described community partnerships that support LCCTC programs, including work with WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital.
The newsletter described a Petain drone pilot program that will introduce drone education and aviation career-pathway content into CTE programs. The report also said the LCCTC appointed Danielle Romberger to the position of principal and that LCCTC authorized an application to the Commonwealth Finance Authority for a $5,000,000 public school facility improvement grant; the application has been submitted and the district is awaiting a decision.
The report was presented as informational; the board did not debate the program details during this portion of the meeting.
