Public Arts Committee readies Diego Harris sculpture and joint gallery opening

Members discussed logistics: borrowing the art center's PA system, setting up a cocktail table for hands-on activities, and whether local press and photographers would attend. "I sent it again on Friday," one member said of the press notice, and the Sebastopol Times had already run an item.
Members decided to offer savory finger food for the opening; trays from Oliver's were suggested for convenience. Robert Smith's newly painted black display spaces were noted as visually successful, and the chair said plaque information for installed pieces will be compiled at Saturday's installation so titles can be added to the inventory.
The meeting closed with members confirming arrival times, volunteer coordination for the installation and plans to recognize artists at the openings. "We'll install it. He'll hang around, have lunch, whatever. Be there at the opening," the chair said to summarize the plan.
