Board adopts BOCES intermunicipal agreement, approves HVAC bid and other consent items
Summary

Superintendent Thomas Smith told the board the IMA is a regional financing agreement that does not itself authorize capital work but standardizes how participating districts will pay if the proposed multi-district BOCES capital project proceeds. The board approved a resolution to enter the IMA and proceed with regional financing coordination; the transcript records a voice vote in favor. Superintendent and business-office staff said project passage still depends on a voter referendum, tentatively scheduled for June.
On routine business the board approved several consent items by voice vote: reapproval of the 2627 school calendar (moving the superintendent conference day in January), acceptance of a 2526 capital outlay bid for HVAC improvements at Batavia High School from Mulberry Betts Incorporated, and approval of the corresponding contract for that project. The board also approved the Board of Education meeting schedule for the 2627 school year, adopted an internal audit risk assessment and corrective action plan for the year ending June 30, 2026, and approved a first amendment to a services agreement adding a Vanguard employee option.
