"The contractor has only operated under the name Southeast Abatement for three years... [they] currently do not have anything comparable as it relates to the scope," the board member said.
The board conducted a roll‑call vote after the motion and support were offered; all voting members present voted yes and the motion passed.
Superintendent and board members emphasized that asbestos work will be scheduled when students are not in the building and that the district is committed to safe, vetted contractors for hazardous‑materials removal. The item had previously been vetted by the finance committee and was listed as unfinished business with two reads; the board completed the approval that night.
