The committee advanced several administrative items including a personnel designation, corrective transfers and follow‑up requests.
The committee considered a measure (item 11806) to ratify the council president's recommendation on step designation for the city auditor. Committee members who served on the interviewing panel supported the recommendation that the auditor be placed at a 7.5‑year designation corresponding to step 2. The committee moved and passed the recommendation to forward the step designation to the full council for final approval.
Committee members also discussed a prior apparent $15,000 transfer from council salaries to outside counsel (item 11736) that was used to cover outside union counsel costs while the city lacked an assistant solicitor. Members asked the mayor’s office to research a corrective transfer and to ensure such payments are coded to the legal budget going forward.
On a separate order (item 11799), the committee recommended transferring $3,580 from auditing department salaries to auditing department professional services to finalize a bill from outside auditors. The committee recorded a voice vote in favor after staff noted an additional $73,000 outside‑auditor bill for February and a partial March bill may follow.
Staff provided a brief lifeline services update and said the senior center director has returned; staff and the mayor plan to meet and provide answers and a presentation at the next Pincom meeting in about two weeks.
The meeting concluded with the committee adjourning after routine closing motions.
