The GURDON SCHOOL DISTRICT board approved a memorandum of understanding with the Tri Lake School Nutrition Consortium and received an update on audit processing and facility repairs.
A presenter described the consortium as a recent collaborative arrangement that has improved pricing and coordination for school nutrition services. “It’s really been a blessing,” the presenter said. The board moved and approved the Tri Lake memorandum of understanding by voice vote.
On finances, the board asked Rhonda to summarize audit status. Rhonda said a final audit is not yet complete, the district submitted federal audit certification work online, and legislative audits operate largely by random selection; she emphasized the importance of internal controls (double and triple signoffs) to prevent errors. “They come in with a list, and their system kinda randomly pulls things to look at,” Rhonda said when describing the legislative audit process.
Board members approved the February 2026 financial report by voice vote after the discussion. Separately, staff reported that contractor Nabholz removed a crushed awning and that a masonry specialist and facilities staff (Justin Swayze and Evan) had inspected AC units to determine which can be repaired and which need replacement.
No new policy changes were adopted; staff will continue to work on final audit items and compile a facilities repair list for the board.
