Chad Reed, Director of Public Works, asked the Stockton City Council to adopt a resolution approving a $3,100,000 grant award to the Miracle Mile Maintenance Improvement District (MMC ID) for acquisition and improvements related to a public-safety maintenance substation and parking.
Reed said the proposed allocation included acquisition of properties at 230-250 Doris Place and 231 Bedford Road for $975,000, estimated renovations of about $525,000, public-safety improvements for about $750,000, and parking and maintenance improvements at about $850,000. Reed also noted the city would retain $550,000 of the funding to improve as many parking lots as possible with that amount.
"Staff recommends that city council adopt a resolution approving a grant award of 3,100,000.0 to the MMC ID for the redevelopment of the Miracle Mile, maintenance substation, parking and safety," Reed said. Council moved, seconded and approved the resolution by roll call 7-0.
The action authorizes the City Manager to execute the grant agreement and directs staff to implement the improvements consistent with the grant terms and deed restrictions noted by staff.
