At its Dec. 10 meeting the Stockton City Council paid tribute to outgoing members and community volunteers. The dais recognized the service of several departing council members and offered commemorative remarks and presentations.
Tamika Smith, Director of Rail Services for the San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission, presented Vice Mayor Kimberly Warmsley with a commemorative ACE Charger locomotive in recognition of her service on the rail commission board. The council also read a commendation honoring the life and community contributions of Janette Santos Cuthbert; Janelle Louie accepted on behalf of family.
Multiple council members gave extended farewell remarks, praising colleagues and staff and recounting accomplishments such as park funding, audit improvements and community programs. Mayor Kevin Lincoln closed the meeting with reflections on service and a reminder to "finish strong" as council members depart and new members are seated.
