San Juan EDC sets executive session, authorizes executive director to negotiate

At the close of its March 3 meeting the San Juan Economic Development Corporation announced it would convene an executive session at 6:30 p.m. under Texas Government Code provisions for attorney consultation (section 551.071), economic-development negotiations (section 551.087) and personnel matters (section 551.074).
During open session a member moved to authorize the executive director to negotiate as discussed in the forthcoming closed session; the motion, moved by Mr. Contreras and seconded by Mr. Garza, was called and announced as passed by the president.
Board members also made and approved motions related to consultation with counsel and personnel actions consistent with the cited code sections; the president indicated no additional action would be taken in open session on those personnel matters.
The board then moved to adjourn after the executive-session items.
