Residents press council for remote meeting access; library patron suggests microchipping at rabies clinics

John Griese (the record also contains the variant spelling John Greaves), a Clark resident, asked the council to prepare a short, simple PowerPoint or presentation explaining the budget with charts so average residents can better understand where tax dollars are spent. Griese repeated the request during general public comment, urging the council to adopt digital meeting options so people with childcare or scheduling conflicts can participate remotely.
"I think everyone would really appreciate being able to have a better understanding of where the money's going," Griese said during the agenda hearing. Mayor Albanese acknowledged the request, said a presentation will be prepared, and noted the council will hold the budget hearing on April 20 and post materials online.
Julia Collins, a Clark resident, thanked police and dispatchers for reuniting a lost dog with its owner and suggested the township consider offering microchipping at rabies clinics for a nominal fee, citing prior programs run by rescue groups and local microchip manufacturers. She said she spoke with the health department and asked the council to consider the option.
Mayor Albanese said he will take the suggestions under advisement and provided a contact number for follow-up. Neither request resulted in immediate action votes; both were referred to staff for follow-up and the budget presentation was scheduled for public outreach ahead of the April 20 hearing.
