City staff said they have been coordinating with county officials and sent notice of the city’s intent to annex; an assistant county manager had been engaged in those discussions, staff said. "Letter was sent in November to the county manager, noticing the intent of our resolution tonight," staff told the council in response to a council member’s question about intergovernmental coordination.
The council adopted the resolution (to be numbered 4667 in staff remarks) with one dissenting vote from a council member; staff recorded the outcome as carried. Council members did not request additional public hearings during this meeting; staff described the outreach and notification steps completed to date.
The annexation transfers land at the city’s western edge into the city’s planning jurisdiction; staff noted that county officials had been notified so there would be no surprises in process.
