County manager (role label) summarized the items: an agreement with EnergyUnited for lighting at the Jennings Park overflow project; acceptance of a health department grant of $3,000 to purchase member care kits for at-risk children and high-risk pregnancy care management; authorization to fill 14 critical positions in the Department of Social Services (Medicaid and food nutrition services units); veteran services grants (NCDMVA grant of $20,000 and a Walmart Spark Good grant of $1,250); authorization to auction roughly 30 surplus vehicles (proceeds anticipated to exceed $30,000); a transfer of $2,831,800 within the solid waste capital project fund to start the Chief Thomas Road convenience site project; and initiation of facility abatement and renovations for Government Center South using $2,174,176 moved from the capital improvement plan.
The board approved the consent agenda by voice vote with no opposition. The items will proceed to implementation through the appropriate departments; staff noted Project Raven’s improvement timeline was extended to Dec. 31, 2027.
