Board favors flower design for utility-box wraps; staff warned about image rights

"We have included 2 concepts... This is concept number 1, iconic places, and then we have, flowers," staff said when introducing the options. Staff emphasized rights and technical needs: "We don't we don't have the right to use the flowers yet because we don't know which one you're going to choose... We need high resolution. And we don't want somebody to say, I took the picture... And I want me to paint you."
Several board members said location photos would highlight recognizable sites, but many preferred the flower imagery for color and attractiveness. "My personal preference... is the flowers," the chair said; another member added, "I like the flowers too. It adds a pop of color."
Members discussed a mix-and-match approach but staff requested a concept direction so procurement and photo-rights work can proceed. Staff said the next steps include sourcing royalty-free or licensed photos, coordinating with a printer for sizing, and confirming whether some wraps can mix the two concepts if the board later agrees.
Staff indicated a direction to choose one concept; the board voiced a clear preference for the flower concept during the roll call on the item. Staff will follow up on image licensing and production specifications before installation.
