One trustee recommended the survey include context about potential financial benefits of metered parking for the community. Another recommended demographic cross‑tabs to avoid skewed samples if respondents were disproportionately comfortable with mobile apps.
"I would not send this survey until next year," one trustee said, citing recent new fees and infrastructure change. After discussion the committee voted to defer the plan and asked staff to return with a timeline that would allow survey results to influence the 2028 budget.
The motion to defer was seconded and passed without opposition; staff will bring the item back to the Budget & Finance Committee in January 2027.
