The Henderson Planning Commission approved a master sign plan for Johnny Mac's Water Street Tavern (115–117 South Water Street), including two requested modifications to wall signage area limits and a revised condition on a required mural. Applicant representatives acknowledged the staff report and asked for a change to condition 4 to give an additional 60 days after the initial 90‑day/3‑month period to paint over the wall sign if the mural was not completed.
Applicant representative (on the record) said, "We agree that we'll do the mural. We'll have 30 days to work on that mural. If it doesn't get done within that 30 days, then we have a little bit of time afterwards to paint over it and match the paint," and asked the commission to allow the staff‑agreed modification. Commissioners clarified that final approval of the mural drawing will go through city parks and recreation arts staff (Meg Harris was named as the arts manager who will coordinate approvals).
Commissioner Grismanowska moved to approve MSP 2025017125 subject to findings of fact, conditions and the discussed memo changes; the motion passed. Commissioners noted appreciation for the proposed mural and that staff and parks and rec would coordinate final art review.
