LEXINGTON, Ky. — Highlights from the Jan. 15, 2026 meeting of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government Planning Commission:
- Minutes: The commission approved minutes for Nov. 13, Nov. 20 and Dec. 11, 2025 after clarifying attendance and limiting votes where commissioners were absent. Motion to approve was made by Mr. Wilson and carried unanimously.
- Performance bonds and letters of credit: The commission approved the bonds and letters of credit as presented by staff; motion by Mr. Wilson, seconded by Commissioner Wirth, carried unanimously.
- Postponements: The commission granted one-month postponements (to Feb. 12, 2026) for PLN MJSUB 25-0005 (Suburban Pointe Subdivision expansion on Price Road) at the applicant's request (represented in the record by Chris Veda) and for PLN MGTP 2567 (Margaret C. Kamick property / Savage property at 4630 Old Schoolhouse Lane). Motions carried unanimously.
- Waiver: The commission approved WAV 25-00009 for the East High multi-use project (MJDP 25-72), allowing the developer not to provide a direct pedestrian connection to East Vine Street because LFUCG Public Works is replacing an approximately 8-foot retaining wall. Commissioner Nicholl moved for approval, Miss Worth seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
No public commenters spoke on the waiver items, and staff announced upcoming scheduling changes: a planning commission work session and a zoning hearing later in the month.
