The Town Council unanimously approved several licensing items on March 23. Councilors approved a victualler license for El Makitu Restaurant (owner Pedro Augusto Cuevas Reyes) and voted to transfer a Class B (victualler) liquor license to Jack's Place LLC, whose applicant Quinn Early said the venue will open April 10 as a cocktail-and-burger bar. Councilors also approved transfer of the Muse Tavern license to 456 Opco LLC; attorney Matthew Lyons said management and much of the staff will remain to preserve the establishment's character.
Councilors asked applicants about intended menus and operational continuity and congratulated new owners. There was no public comment during the related public hearings and the license-transfer votes passed by voice vote.
