Members of the Oklahoma House welcomed 17 visiting reconstructive surgeons from Ukraine through Operation Ukraine and the OU Health Sciences Center, and Representative Roberts presented Denny Wilson Lober, a trauma-burn nurse with OU Health, as nurse of the day.
The Oklahoma House welcomed 17 reconstructive surgeons visiting from Ukraine through an Operation Ukraine partnership with the OU Health Sciences Center. Representative Alonzo Sandoval introduced the group on the floor and asked members to give them a round of applause.
"We have 17 surgeons visiting from Ukraine, through Operation Ukraine with the OU Health Sciences Center," Alonzo Sandoval said, noting the surgeons’ presence in Oklahoma to observe and collaborate with local medical teams.
Earlier in the session Representative Roberts introduced Denny Wilson Lober as the nurse of the day. Roberts described Wilson Lober as an RN, BSN, a trauma-burn nurse and trauma burn coordinator at OU Health with more than 22 years of experience caring for patients with complex burn injuries and working to improve access to specialized care in rural areas. "Her efforts help bridge the gap between rural health care and specialized burn centers," Roberts said.
Members applauded both introductions. The recognitions highlighted the Legislature’s ceremonial role in showcasing public-health partnerships and local medical expertise; no legislation or funding was proposed as part of the floor statements.
The House proceeded to other introductions and adjourned until April 2, 2026.
