The South St. Paul School Board on March 23 approved a slate of business items that included program support, a facilities contract, a public health agreement and acceptance of community donations.
After a brief presentation by activities director Brady Krueger, the board voted to approve the girls flag football emerging status to support the program’s continued growth and possible transition to a Minnesota State High School League‑sponsored activity; Krueger said the program drew more than 40 players this season.
The board then reviewed bids for replacement of an air handler at the Packer Activity Center. Buildings and grounds director Mark Fenton said seven bids were received; the board approved the recommended award. Board members confirmed familiarity with the contractor and noted previous budget discussions.
Student Services Director Jennifer Danielson described an annual joint powers agreement with Dakota County and Special District 6 to coordinate childhood vaccination clinics; the board approved the agreement, noting the clinics have improved access for families who might otherwise face difficulty scheduling appointments.
Finance director Rajat presented a gifts report: the Lions Club donated $600 for marathon T‑shirts and $1,000 earmarked for school patrols. The board accepted the donations and asked staff to send thank‑you notices.
All business items passed by unanimous voice votes.
