City staff presented before-and-after photos of the building and explained that applicant Sylvia Mijares did not install two awnings listed in her original application because contractors’ quotes for historically required materials exceeded her budget by more than $7,000. "Her facade grant was approved back in June," the presenter said, and staff recommended approving the payout despite the omitted awnings because the completed work significantly improved the building’s appearance.
A member moved to approve the payout and another member seconded the motion. The chair called for a vote and announced the motion passed unanimously.
Members praised the finished work during post-vote remarks; one member said the project made a visible difference to adjacent properties. The board did not attach additional conditions to the payout. The meeting then continued to other facade and certificate items.
The applicant was present for the discussion and thanked the board.
