The North Aurora Village Board unanimously approved a resolution adopting the village's 2026–2027 strategic plan at its March 16 meeting.
Steve, a village staff member who presented the item, said the plan was developed after a January workshop, refined by staff into goals, objectives and action steps, and reviewed by the Committee of the Whole. "This is the plan that we had the workshop in January, and then we, staff met, went over goals and objectives and action steps, brought it back to the Committee of the Whole at the last meeting, and now it's set for approval to the board tonight," he said.
The plan provides a framework for several long‑term projects the board has flagged as priorities, including the Orchard Gateway road improvements and a lead service line replacement program staff said will begin this year. Board members moved and seconded the resolution and approved it by roll call.
The vote was recorded as an affirmative roll call; the board did not record any dissenting votes during the motion. Staff said the plan will guide budget and capital decisions over the next two years and will inform upcoming grant and construction activity tied to the village's strategic goals.
The board took no separate substantive amendments during the meeting; implementation details and scheduling will be handled by staff and brought back to the board or appropriate committees as needed.
