The package reorganizes use and bulk tables, consolidates RV parking language, adds limited administrative review authority for minor (up to 10%) adjustments, and clarifies subdivision and planned‑development procedures.
Staff said the changes arose from multiple work sessions and prior sketch‑plan review and that the Design Review Commission had already approved companion amendments. Director/legal counsel and staff proposed five clarifying edits on the record (including replacing a reference from R1 to RE in one clause, preserving earlier RV language for some districts, and adding explicit language about lot sizes and the director's title for minor subdivisions). The vice chair moved approval including those five clarifications and the commission approved the package after discussion.
Commissioners emphasized that the use tables and bulk matrices will make the code easier to read and apply and welcomed the 10% administrative threshold for minor adjustments. Staff said the consolidated code will reduce redundant language and streamline reviews that previously required multiple boards. The amendments will be forwarded to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen as part of the city's annual ZTA process.
