Students from Needham, Fort Lewis Mesa, Park, Clarita Mesa, Sunnyside, Escalante, River View, Miller Middle School and other schools presented artwork during Youth Art Month at the board meeting. Presentations described materials and techniques (watercolors, colored pencil, Sharpie outlines, polymer clay sculpture) and the student creators explained their inspiration and favorite parts of their pieces.
Board members congratulated students, presented certificates and invited families to view the works on display in the Administration Building for approximately one year. Several board members thanked teachers and art staff for arranging the exhibits; the district noted that the artworks will be on display for campus visitors who come to the Administration Building.
Students and teachers involved in the presentations were thanked collectively; the board said it would send a note of appreciation to participating teachers and to community arts supporters.
