At its March 2 meeting the Fort Pierce City Commission adopted Ordinance 26‑003 on second reading, which amends the city code to require annual auditing services, establishes auditor selection contracting requirements and limits the duration an auditor may serve.
There was no public comment during the second reading and the commission moved and approved the ordinance by roll call. Immediately following the ordinance vote the commission approved a series of resolutions certifying appointments to advisory boards: Jessica Barclay to the Arts and Culture Advisory Board (26‑R‑11); Hoyt Murphy Jr. to the Historic Preservation Board (26‑R‑12); Charlie Hayek to the Police Community Advisory Committee (26‑R‑13); Krista Story to the Planning Board (26‑R‑14); and a set of appointments to the Auditor Selection Committee including Glenda Cavalcanti, Tory Kronister, Daryl Drummond and Jeremiah Johnson (26‑R‑15).
The commission also approved Resolution 26‑R‑16 authorizing the city to enter a maintenance memorandum of agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for maintenance of drainage and stormwater infrastructure tied to FDOT projects; the mayor, city clerk and city attorney were authorized to execute the agreement.
All votes on these items were recorded by roll call and carried unanimously according to the meeting record. The city clerk will file the ordinances and resolutions and staff will proceed to implement the FDOT maintenance arrangement per the approved resolution.
