Commissioner Transalek recommended the commission decide whether to enter the session with a focused technical topic (for example, a well-water testing protocol) or to use an open brainstorming format that would produce a prioritized list of action items. "The only one I ever remember attending was a well water testing [session]," Transalek said, urging a format that leads to implementable outcomes rather than conversation alone.
Several commissioners asked for SMART-style framing (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, time-bound) and for built-in assessment measures to track success. Staff (Liz) agreed to research open-meeting law implications and circulate guidance on public participation and scheduling.
Staff will email commissioners proposed dates and a draft outline; the commission expects to formalize objectives and evaluation criteria at or before the work session.
