A clerk staff member said the grant writer had proposed placing the county on another "tier" of the grant that staff said the Attorney General's office had reviewed and approved for reporting and expenditure arrangements. "What I liked about it was $8,500 a year that indirect cost that we could put into, the emergency managers budget," the clerk said. LaFoure County was noted to be considering the same resolution.
Commissioners discussed scheduling a special meeting to accommodate officials' availability and whether a quorum would be permissible when some officials could not attend. The clerk and commissioners said they would coordinate timing so all three commissioners could attend if needed.
Staff will bring updated travel-policy language to a future meeting and will proceed with the grant-tier paperwork pending final approvals and any required intergovernmental arrangements.
