County counsel read the ordinance title and staff indicated no additional information was necessary; no members of the public provided testimony and the motion carried.
Before discussion of a county land sale, the chair publicly announced a conflict of interest and recused himself under ORS 244.120 because the property under consideration is surrounded by land owned by his family and is under a sale agreement with North Coast Industrial LLC. Vice Chair Banks presided over the item. County manager Monica Steele summarized the staff recommendation: North Coast Industrial LLC offered $980 for a 0.14‑acre parcel (assessed value $762); because the parcel is landlocked by surrounding private ownership, staff said additional market interest was unlikely. Staff explained proceeds would cover administrative costs, remaining funds would be turned over to taxing districts, and any surplus beyond that would be processed per the state’s surplus property procedures. The board approved accepting the offer and authorized the vice chair to sign the deed.
The board also adopted an updated FY25‑26 fee schedule, incorporating two new land‑use planning fees, with an effective date of March 12, 2026; Andrew Sullivan, finance director, presented the item. Earlier in the meeting the board unanimously approved a resolution proclaiming March 24–30, 2026, as National Tsunami Preparedness Week; Jen Munson, emergency management coordinator, outlined preparedness steps and thanked volunteers.
The meeting closed after routine commissioner reports and a public‑comment period in which a resident urged stronger veteran representation and support for hiring a second Veterans Service Officer.
