Council approves Larson–Bermuda subdivision; developer will relocate commercial acreage

The Henderson City Council approved a three-part land-use package and tentative map to develop a single-family subdivision at the northeast corner of Gillespie Street and Larson Lane.
Staff described the application as a comprehensive land-use change to medium-density residential, a zone change, and a tentative map proposing 91 detached and 36 attached single-family lots (127 total). Planning and staff recommended approval.
Tom Hammock, representing the applicant Richmond American Homes, explained that 10 acres originally designated for commercial use are being relocated within nearby parcels to preserve a total of 15 acres of commercial land use at a more logical intersection location. He said staff required that the commercial acreage relocation be in place before permitting proceeds.
Council moved and voted to approve the item (motion made by Councilman Stewart); the clerk announced the motion carried with all members voting in favor.
The approvals include the related resolution accompanying the item; staff and the Planning Commission recommended the entitlements and tentative map with conditions.
