City staff gives timeline updates for ADA, waterline and mill‑and‑fill projects; animal shelter and evidence transfer progress reported

Travis, a city staff member, briefed the council on multiple capital projects, saying the ADA project is "moving very well, very fast and ahead of schedule" and thanking the public for patience around cones and access limitations. He said the waterline portion of the mill‑and‑fill project will begin Nov. 10, with the milling portion expected to start Dec. 1 or Dec. 8 depending on waterline progress.

Travis said the project will be completed in three staged sections to limit business access disruptions, that businesses would receive weekly emails notifying them when milling will occur in front of their property, and that access for any business would be limited to one day during the milling portion. He also reported a successful bid for the Canyon Crest and Horizon project that will come before the council on the 18th.

On facilities, Travis said the animal shelter project is over 70% complete and the fire station project is progressing. He told the council the city expects to transfer evidence from the old location to the new evidence building the following week. In response to a question from Councilmember Wallace about street‑light pedestal installation, Travis said the pedestals had just started to be installed that week and that mast‑arm and pedestal work is likely scheduled for late February or March, with owner‑supplied equipment helping shorten the schedule compared with past projects.

The council did not take formal votes on these staff updates; items including the Canyon Crest and Horizon project bid will return for formal action in a future meeting.
