Sam Zimmerman of Riverview Center told the Bremer County Board that the organization provides free and confidential advocacy services to survivors of sexual assault, including medical, legal and general advocacy and community education.
Following the presentation, supervisors moved to adopt a proclamation recognizing child‑abuse prevention month and approved the item by voice vote. The chair read and signed the proclamation, and staff arranged a brief photo opportunity.
Zimmerman summarized services and contact information for residents: Riverview Center’s Waterloo office can be reached at (319) 939‑9599 and a 24‑hour crisis line is available for after‑hours needs. The board thanked Riverview Center for its work.
Next steps: staff will post the proclamation and coordinate a photo with Riverview Center representatives.
