WHKS and the city apportioned work that is attributable to the county’s road realignment; the city will pay $70,300 while the county’s share of the design cost is $40,600.
County engineering staff noted the not‑to‑exceed figure covers design and information‑gathering through the letting phase and does not include any right‑of‑way acquisitions; if acquisitions are needed the county would handle those costs separately. The city indicated some portions of its work have come in under budget historically, so the final county charge could be lower than the not‑to‑exceed amount.
Supervisors voted with a motion and second to authorize the chair to sign the agreement and indicated staff will bring preliminary traffic‑count data in the following weeks to assist future decisions on dust control and bidding strategy.
