The Henderson City Council voted to approve the first substantial amendment to the 2025 annual action plan, allocating $200,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to renovate restrooms at Wells Park.
Planning staff explained the amendment is intended to supplement previously committed CDBG funding because of increased construction and material costs. "This is the first amendment to the 2025 annual action plan proposes allocating $200,000 in community development block grant to the Wells Park restroom renovation project," staff said during the hearing.
The public hearing was opened and no members of the public signed up to speak. Councilman Cox moved to adopt staff's recommendation and the motion carried unanimously.
Staff will authorize submission of the amendment to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development per HUD requirements and the city's citizen participation plan. No additional public comments were made during the hearing.
