The Natchitoches Parish School Board voted on March 10 to table a proposed memorandum of understanding with Northwestern State University after board members said they needed more time to review the agreement.
Board member McGuire moved to table the MOU until next month, saying he had "a lot of questions" and that several colleagues who had similar questions were not present at the meeting. The motion was approved in a roll-call vote.
Miss Paige introduced the MOU during the finance, facilities and insurance portion of the agenda and said the district had negotiated terms with Northwestern State University. McGuire said he preferred postponing action to allow the full board to weigh in.
The board conducted a roll-call vote to table the item. The clerk recorded affirmative votes from Danzy, McGuire, Benafield, McGaski, Palmer, Harvey and Paige; one member, Nicholson, was absent. The chair declared the motion passed.
The board did not adopt the MOU at the March meeting and left the item on the agenda for further review at the next regular meeting.
