Weld County approves short-term shelter contracts, tower site licenses and fair photography contract

The Weld County Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved a series of short-term service and facility contracts on March 25, including three emergency shelter agreements, two communications tower site licenses and a county fair photography contract.
Lenny Bator of Weld County Department of Human Services presented three separate agreements that would provide temporary emergency placement and case management for individuals and families determined eligible under the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) or the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program. Each agreement — Contract ID 10450 (Woman's Place), Contract ID 10451 (Catholic Charities and Community Services of the Archdiocese of Denver), and Contract ID 10452 (Greeley Transitional House d/b/a Greeley Family House) — runs from April 1 through Nov. 30, 2026, and carries a maximum payment of $10,000. The board approved each contract by voice vote after commissioners moved and seconded the items.
Cordero Bustos of Public Safety Wireless sought approval of two five-year site license agreements with RISE Broadband. The LaSalle tower site (18940 County Road 38, Platteville) was presented at $2,000 per month (approximately $120,000 over five years), and the Fort Lupton tower site (7625 County Road 31) at $2,200 per month (approximately $132,000 over five years). The board voted to approve both licenses.
Michaela Gable, representing the Weld County Fair Board, requested approval of a professional services agreement with Allison Marie Media to serve as the official photographer for the 2026 Weld County Fair for $7,500; the contract was approved unanimously.
All of the contracts were presented as previously reviewed (a pass-around was noted from the March 17 circulation) and were approved without extended debate. None of the approvals included additional funding beyond the amounts stated or conditions that would alter county policy.
