Staff noted the county had a capital-improvement fund where prior insurance proceeds had been deposited (staff referenced a prior deposit of roughly $177,000 from insurance-related proceeds) and said that fund could cover county costs if needed.
Commissioners asked staff to press the insurer (referred to in the transcript as K Camp / KCAMP / variations) for clarification and requested staff seek additional vendor quotes so the county would not be forced to rush into a purchase. The commission voted to table the KBK quote and return the matter to the next weekly meeting pending insurer feedback and any additional vendor quotes.
"We need to push on that a little bit," one commissioner said, asking staff to follow up with the insurer; the board voted to table the item to next week’s meeting.
