The committee recommended the board approve a one‑year renewal of the cooperative‑use agreement that allows Concerned Citizens of Gibson to use the Gibson Elementary kitchen, cafeteria and breezeway to prepare and distribute meals and groceries to residents.
Staff reported the group initially entered a one‑year agreement and has provided a renewed certificate of insurance. The group is affiliated with Second Harvest Food Bank and provides meals and community distributions, staff said: "They are, cooking meals, serving meals to the community. They have a, giveaway, groceries and food and things of that nature for the citizens of Gibson," the staff member said.
Board members praised the group's community role and discussed whether a longer multi‑year term might better support the organization; staff said the group initially requested one year and agreed to the renewal for another year. The committee moved and approved the recommendation with no objections.
Next steps: staff will process the renewal and continue to monitor the group's community activities and insurance compliance.
