Planning staff reports subdivision progress, permit revenue and staffing appointment

At the April 1 meeting of the Waupaca Plan Commission, planning department staff provided development and permit updates and a staffing announcement.
Juliana, a planning department staff member, said developer work on the River North Subdivision is moving forward and the developer anticipates completing the first three homes by the end of April; the department has approved a permit for a seventh home and five of the initial homes are already listed for sale. She said the department issued 22 zoning and building permits in March, generating approximately $17,045 in permit revenue.
Juliana also said the department extended an offer to a candidate for a residential building inspector and code enforcement officer who holds the required certifications; the candidate accepted and the appointment will appear on the Common Council agenda on Wednesday, April 8 for council discussion and approval (staff noted an exception was made to bring this appointment to council). She further reported that Alliance Industries’ development on Runway Drive has been granted temporary occupancy while outstanding items are finished and that one additional hangar on airport property is approved and expected to be built later in the year.
Commissioners had no further questions and the meeting moved to adjournment.
