The board honored winter sports teams and individual athletes, recognized new New York State Master Teachers from district schools, and heard student reports from elementary and middle schools.
The Three Village Central School District Board of Education recognized student and staff achievements March 25, honoring winter sports champions, master‑teacher inductees and student leaders from across the district.
Athletic Director Guarzi (speaker 5) led an awards segment that highlighted League, county and state championships across multiple teams and called out individual honors. In a tribute to a standout, a presenter (speaker 6) said of Jacqueline Engle: "Jacqueline Engle is that player," listing all‑league, all‑county and all‑state honors and noting an average of 18.6 points per game.
Coaches across programs credited team culture and leadership. Coach Tom Youngs (speaker 8) noted several girls‑track athletes who qualified for state and earned all‑American recognition in relay events. Wrestling coach Garrett Schnettler (speaker 9) recognized state placers Jaden Baron, Hunter Phillips and Chase Phillips. The varsity cheer team was celebrated for regional, national, county and state success; coaches thanked families, the board and administration for support.
The board also recognized educators: two district teachers — Catherine Kamisky and Jennifer Vecchio — were named New York State Master Teachers. A district representative (speaker 17) described Kamisky’s curriculum contributions and extracurricular leadership, while another (speaker 19) praised Vecchio’s work as a sixth‑grade special education teacher.
Student representatives from elementary and middle schools shared school news and activities. Blair Barnes and Ethan Benichi (speakers 21 and 22) reported on kindness and cultural events in elementary buildings; Murphy representatives (speakers 23 and 24) summarized Science Olympiad and math competition successes; and sixth‑grader Vincenzo Pastor (speaker 16) presented events at Paul Trejolinis Middle School including a geography bee and the school play.
The recognitions filled the first portion of the meeting and the board thanked staff and families before moving on to committee and budget business.
