Notable outcomes included a zeroing of fines for one petitioner who came forward and removed misleading posts and who demonstrated compliance, and 50% reductions in several other cases where petitioners said they stopped providing services on receipt of a cease‑and‑desist and faced hardship (medical recovery, job loss or family obligations). Board members repeatedly urged petitioners to enroll in approved training if they wish to continue the trade legally and instructed staff to provide outcome letters setting payment timelines and compliance steps.
Executive Director Steve McDonald and licensing staff said their enforcement goal is compliance and public safety rather than punitive action; the board used its discretion to lower penalties in cases where petitioners had promptly removed promotional posts and said they had ceased unlicensed activity. Some cases were continued or remanded to staff for follow‑up, and the board advised petitioners on legal remedies and next steps.
