Commissioners approved a request permitting the sale of fundraising raffle tickets for the Gyler Isaac Memorial Tournament after staff reported guidance from the attorney general's office.
Staff member (S5) told the board they had "talk[ed] to the attorney general's office" and were advised the county could require confirmation that the money was deposited and used for donations. "We can, require or ask him to provide us with confirmation that the money was deposited and used for donations," the staff member said. The staff member clarified the organizer is running the raffle for the tournament rather than for a private individual.
Commissioner (S1) moved to approve the request; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote. The board instructed staff to process the paperwork and to include any confirmation requirements where appropriate.
