Tom Viola, introduced by the staff member as the director of facilities, thanked his crews and described the logistics that enabled the operation. "They did a phenomenal job," Viola said, noting that crews worked overnight, used new equipment acquired over the past three years, and moved assets to clear building entrances and parking lots. He said two trucks became stuck early in the response but that crews regrouped and continued work over several days.
Viola credited Chris Herman, identified as the district's RV foreman, with orchestrating the movement of equipment and personnel to clear parking lots and ensure buildings were safe to open.
District leaders said the work prioritized student safety and continuity of instruction; there was no formal action taken during the remarks.
