Board approves proclamations, contracts and personnel items; moves into executive session

At its March meeting the North Syracuse Central School District Board of Education approved a series of routine and business items, including proclamations, contracts, policy amendments and personnel actions, and then moved into executive session.
Proclamations and recognitions: President Michael Maurizio read proclamations honoring School Library Media Specialists (April 6, 2026) and School Occupational Therapists (April 8, 2026); the board approved both.
Contracts, memoranda and project approvals: Trustees approved a capital outlay project seeker for acoustic panels at Roxborough Road Middle School; approved a memorandum of agreement dated March 4, 2026 with the North Syracuse Education Association; approved a memorandum of agreement dated March 20, 2026 with NSADA; approved selection of the district’s construction management services; and selected King and King Architects for architectural engineering services.
Policy and minutes: The board approved an amended access-to-school-buildings policy (amended option limited to police access) and approved amendments to the January 12, 2026 minutes as presented.
Personnel and retirements: The board acknowledged retirements (Carol Strzalewski, Scott Wilson and Marie Tubolino) and approved the personnel reports as submitted. Following that action the board voted unanimously to enter executive session to review one parental appeal (with action to follow), one legal matter (no action) and two personnel matters (no action).
