Public commenter urges Moreno Valley to halt warehouses, AI data centers and street surveillance

Gonzalez argued these uses draw large amounts of energy and water, can pollute air and water with long‑lasting contaminants, and raise privacy and enforcement concerns because camera data can be shared or accessed beyond local control. He asked the commission to re‑raise warehouse moratorium considerations with City Council after prior votes in council “flipped and flopped.” Gonzalez also asked the commission to advocate for protection of donkeys in Ridgette Canyon, raising animal‑welfare and local‑resource concerns.
The commission did not act on the requests during the meeting; public comments were recorded on the meeting record and can be forwarded to City Council or placed on a future agenda if the commission or council so chooses.
