Campbell said warranty periods vary by component (a five‑year minimum warranty on the track surface and two‑year workmanship warranties on other items) and that the project team prioritized long‑lead items to keep the overall schedule on track.
The board also approved two additional capital items presented by the same project team: - Davidson Middle Academy roofing project: recommendation to award Bloom Roofing a fixed fee of $676,965 with a $65,000 contingency (total not to exceed $741,965). The project covers replacement of several classroom wings and connectors to bring those sections to a 20‑year warranty standard. - Grogan Elementary parking lot renovation: recommendation to award Best Asphalt a fixed fee of $547,500 with a $75,000 contingency (total not to exceed $622,500). The work includes extending the lot to add roughly 30 parking spaces, new site lighting (five fixtures with 25‑year warranties), fencing, some storm structures and resurfacing a play pad.
Campbell and board members emphasized coordination to limit disruptions: staff said the district is trying to consolidate summer projects where possible, pre‑purchase long‑lead materials and phase work if needed so camps and summer programming have alternate sites if required. Contractors are to be finalized pending the district’s legal review of contract terms.
