The Muscle Shoals Board of Education accepted a personnel report that included a retirement, a resignation and multiple part-time and supplemental summer assignments.
The superintendent read the personnel report and recommended its approval. The report lists Sharon Price, secretary/bookkeeper at Hal Grace Preschool, as retiring effective June 1. It also lists the resignation of Sherry Langley, the district’s CSFO (chief school financial officer), effective June 30. The superintendent thanked Langley "for her service to Muscle Shoals City Schools" and said the district will work on a smooth transition.
The personnel report also included a range of part-time and supplemental contract assignments for summer programs and athletics (examples named in the packet include extended-day staff, gate workers and summer camp employees) and temporary Kelly Service staff filling maternity leaves. Superintendent remarks noted the packet contains a longer list of summer-learning staff and other assignments and that anyone in the audience could review the packet.
A motion to approve the personnel report was made, seconded and approved by voice vote with no opposition recorded. The superintendent and board members offered thanks and well wishes to departing staff members.
