Board approves school immunization clinic MOU, library partnerships and annual report

The McHenry County Board of Health voted March 16 to approve several partnership agreements and the department’s 2025 annual report.

Staff described a memorandum of understanding with McHenry School District 15 to operate on‑campus immunization clinics using the department’s mobile clinic and existing staff at no additional cost. A director said the mobile‑clinic coordinator plans targeted outreach and registration options for students who need school required immunizations. The board approved the District 15 MOU by voice vote after a motion and second.

The board also approved memoranda of understanding with the University Public Library District and the Johnsburg Public Library for public‑health partnership activities. All library MOUs passed by voice vote.

The board moved to approve the McHenry County Department of Health’s annual report for 2025 and discussed scheduling presentations of the report to county committees and the full county board in April and May so the department can highlight items such as breast and cervical cancer screening progress and staffing needs. The motion to approve the annual report passed by voice vote.

The chair removed the agenda item related to the tuberculosis medical director independent contractor (item 6d2) from the consent agenda for separate action at a later meeting. The remainder of the consent agenda passed in a roll‑call vote with a majority in favor.

Board members were invited to the Crystal Lake clinic ribbon cutting on April 10 and discussed event logistics and public recognition plans for longtime employees.
