Tipp City Council on March 16 swore in a new police officer and discussed a recent windstorm that caused a brief citywide power outage.
Mayor Rogers administered the oath for Officer Jacob Ambrose during a swearing-in ceremony; councilmembers offered congratulations and welcome. "Congratulations to officer Ambrose," councilmembers said during remarks following the oath.
During councilcomments, Mr. Mack and other staff recounted a windstorm-related outage Friday that cut power at the transmission level. “The city lost power at the transmission level. AES essentially dropped the entire city, because of an issue they had,” Mr. Mack said, describing why the city is pursuing a second interconnection. He said the interconnection project has been under way for many years and that staff, including Mr. Bowser in Public Electric & Municipal Services, expect the second interconnection to be in place around 2027.
Council offered brief ceremonial remarks (including St. Patrick’s Day greetings) and then adjourned.
