Tipp City Council approves construction agreement and transformer purchase for Summit Landing Section 4

Tipp City Council on March 16 approved a construction agreement with Arbor Homes for Summit Landing Subdivision Section 4 and authorized the city manager to buy 20 pad-mounted transformers needed for the phase.

Mr. Mack told council the phase covers about 23 acres and will contain 47 single-family lots. “This resolution approves the construction agreement with Arbor Homes to begin construction of infrastructure in the phase 4 of the Summit Landing subdivision,” Mr. Mack said, adding the developer has met city requirements, provided surety and paid necessary fees. He said the planning board recommended the final plat for approval and staff supports council action.

Council also approved a separate resolution authorizing the city manager to purchase 20 transformers from Central Maloney Inc. at a cost not to exceed $65,620; staff said the vendor provided the lowest of four quotes. President Liddy opened and closed the public hearing on the construction agreement with no public comments before the council voted.

The roll-call votes on the construction agreement showed unanimous approval: Missus Benjure, Mayor Rogers, Mister Cox, Missus Huffman, Mister O'Neil and President Liddy all voted yes. The transformer purchase resolution passed on a similar roll call.

Council introduced, on first reading, an ordinance to approve the final plat for Summit Landing Section 4, which will return at a future meeting for further readings and a formal ordinance vote. The ordinance and related resolutions together provide the legal and infrastructure approvals staff said are required before vertical construction can proceed.

The council did not receive public comments on the measures during the hearing. The council packet indicates the developer provided required surety and planning-board recommendation; staff said the city received four quotes for transformers and Central Maloney’s was lowest.
