Stacy Clark of Piatt Township addressed the board during courtesy of the floor on March 9 to raise concerns about the district’s handling of a recent decision regarding the school musical. Clark said she had not received substantive replies from the superintendent or board members and that she had to file a Right-to-Know request to obtain information.
Clark said the district’s response package omitted the contents of the executive meeting where the decision was made and criticized the process as opaque. She told the board that the district’s Policy 230 on student performances and public events allows administrative regulations and asked the board to develop clear guidelines to prevent similar disputes in the future.
"I am simply asking for transparency, accountability, and adherence to established policies when it comes to decisions that impact our students and community," Clark said.
Chair concluded public comment and announced the board would enter an executive session to discuss a contract and that there would be no further business that evening.
